FAQ

Sooley's FAQ page explains how their custom-made insoles are created using a 3D scan of the feet that is analyzed by orthotists. Questions about the ordering process, how to use the app, and the materials used in the insoles are answered. Shipping is worldwide, and there are options for packing stations. Statutory health insurance companies in Germany do not cover the costs, but there are options for private prescriptions.

General Questions

How do I use my insoles?

First, remove the old insoles or insoles. Then place the Sooley insoles in your shoes so that they fit snugly. If the insoles are too long, you can easily trim them at the front. If necessary, clean the insoles with mild soap and water and let them air dry.

What does "custom-made" mean exactly?

After scanning your feet with our 3D Sooley app, our orthopedic technicians use state-of-the-art technologies to analyze the 3D model of your feet. The insoles are then manufactured by us using advanced 3D printers to ensure a precise and custom fit. At Sooley, each insole is a unique masterpiece, specially crafted for you.

How is the precision of my Sooley insoles ensured?

The precision is based on a millimeter-accurate 3D scan of your feet and the shoe's insole, additional information from a questionnaire, and the type of shoe. With this data, we can guarantee an ideal fit.

How do I know if I need insoles?

70% of Germans have a foot misalignment. Constant or recurring foot pain and discomfort, including indirect pains like in the knees, hips, back, head, or jaw, can be signs of the need for insoles. If you're not sure, we're happy to provide you with a free preliminary analysis via WhatsApp.

Difference from insoles from a drugstore or shoe store?

Sooley insoles provide individual support and pressure relief to alleviate and prevent discomfort, in contrast to standardized insoles.

Are the insoles suitable for children as well?

Insoles are only manufactured for individuals aged 18 and above. For children, it is recommended to consult an orthopedist.

Can my Sooley insoles be used in any shoe?

In general, Sooley insoles are suitable for most types of shoes, but they are not ideal for very high heels or sandals. If you only have one pair of Sooley insoles, make sure the shoe type is similar. So, use your sneaker insole only for sneakers. Ideally, you have matching insoles for each shoe.

Is the covering material suitable for me?

The covering material is hypoallergenic, breathable, resistant to wear, antibacterial, hypoallergenic, and antimicrobial.

Do I really need more than 1 pair of insoles?

Orthopedic experts recommend using insoles in all the shoes you frequently wear. Typically, this means you should have at least 2 - 3 pairs. Orthopedic insoles should be replaced after approximately 800 km of use or about 1 year when worn on alternating days. To ensure you don't have to replace your insoles earlier, it's advisable to order a spare pair for each.

What material are the insoles made of?

The insoles are made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) with varying degrees of hardness, which offers excellent cushioning and rebound properties. Additionally, they are bacteriostatic and breathable due to their mesh structure. The covering is antibacterial, hypoallergenic, and vegan.

Where are your insoles manufactured?

The insoles are produced in our own workshop in Konstanz.

What is the maximum shoe size for which you produce insoles?

Our insoles can be manufactured in all sizes.

Can I have insoles made for my cycling shoes?

Yes, the bike version of our performance insoles has been specially developed for cyclists.

How long do your insoles last?

The durability depends on usage and care. With regular use, insoles should be replaced after approximately 18 months or 800 km of walking stress.

What is the ordering process like?

After ordering and payment on the website, a foot scan is performed using our app. The produced insoles are then shipped directly to you.

How do you receive my scan data?

The scan data is automatically uploaded to Sooley's servers during the scanning process in the app. Our orthopedic shoemaker then creates your perfectly fitting insole based on this data.

Can I have my order delivered to a packing station?

Yes, you can have your order delivered to a Packstation. Please provide both your postal code and the Packstation number.

I didn't receive my package.

I'm sorry to hear that! Upon request, we can provide you with a DHL tracking link to help you track your package. If your package is still not locatable, please contact our customer service at support@sooley.de.

Do you also deliver internationally?

Yes, you can also conveniently order our insoles from abroad. Please note that there may be shipping fees and customs duties to consider.

Does my health insurance cover the costs?

With a private prescription, you can potentially directly claim the costs of your insoles with your health insurance, depending on your policy. So far, our customers have not had any issues with the reimbursement process. You will receive an invoice from us that you can submit for reimbursement.
